Dois bonecos de mão dada - Tens o poder de ajudar a criar um novo espaço de aprendizagem

Welcome to this Learning Environment!

Jumping from the Moon upon a cloud.

In the 1st of December we give a warm welcome to this new site!

The launch of this communication platform is an invitation to think about what one means by education and what are the ways we choose or accept to reach discovery and self realisation. Here we share APAS vision of learning - one that proposes the act of learning as a complex holistic process that requires a conscious life from each one of us.

What do we do

Aurum Solar Educational Association is devoted to personal development, developing emotional intelligence and self learning through breathwork, meditation, visual arts, mathematics, music therapy, expression, voice and ancient teachings. The aim is that each one can find a gratifying path of learning, the motivation for self-realization, how to master the art of self-relationship and of outward relationship, how to understand one's past, how to achieve calm and how to understand one's role for a better world.

Head-quartered in Lisbon we operate in the world, delivering our services down a number of different channels to answer different needs.

Aurum Solar Educational Association is a place of reflection to awaken consciousness and in an intelligent way get through central  emotional concerns. Here you will never be cornered by dogma, for we will accompany you towards a variety of ideas from the humanities - from philosophy to literature, psychology to the visual arts, mathematics to astronomy – ideas that will exercise, stimulate and expand your mind following a process of self-observation and self-knowledge.

We are  in constant development of an educational philosophy based on the autonomy of action and independence of rhythm that frees every environment, every activity and every teacher and pedagogue to create their own pedagogy. Each of these educational centres, with its own characteristics, is recognized as APAS not by some rules but because of the respect for the essential principles of our philosophy.

The tea cup

Tea CerimonyNan-in, a Japanese zen master of the XIXth century, received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen. The professor announced himself stating that he was really busy and only had little time. While Nan-in prepared the tea the professor disserted about his own theories.

Nan-in calmly served the tea all the while the professor continued talking. He poured his visitor’s cup full, and then kept on pouring.

The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. “It is over full. No more will go in!”

“Like this cup,” Nan-in said, “you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?”

Rubin's Vase

Optical illusion: a vase or two faces? This ambiguous figure demonstrates our ability to shift between figure and ground which provides the basis for the two interpretations of these figures.
